- v. to bow to the ground, to pay respect by making five-point prostration, to prostrate, to pay obeisance to (a high personage, an aged relative, a priest, or an image) by putting both hands together to the forehead, and bending forward with the hands until they rest on the floor. p.กราบทูล- to inform, to present a petition to His Majesty or to a prince or princess;กราบเรียน- a title of address in letters (used to a superior or prince); กราบไหว้- to assume a position of worship or profound respect by falling on the floor with hands clasped and bending the head on to the hands to the floor; หมอบกราบ- to sit sidewise on the floor raising the hands, placed palm to palm, to the face and bending over till the hands touch the floor (a respectful attitude when saluting or taking leave of royalty).นักรบหนุ่มกราบอาจารย์ของเขาก่อนจากไปยังสนามรบ The young warrior paid obeisance to his mentor before he departed for the battlefield. ถ้ามีอะไรไม่เหมาะเกิดขึ้น กระผมจะกราบเรียนให้ท่านทราบ If anything untoward happens, I shall respectfully inform you.
